Brian Clivaz is a well-known figure in the members club, hotel and restaurant world.
His career began at the The Dorchester Hotel working with Anton Mosimann. He trained in Paris at L’Hôtel Plaza Athenée and L’Hôtel Meurice He was Duty Manager at the Mandarin Hyde Park Hotel and transferred to Dubai to help establish the Dubai International Hotel. He became Managing Director of the Fourways Inn, Bermuda, Managing Director of Simpson’s-in-the-Strand and Food & Beverage Director for The Savoy Group. He was the founding Director of Home House, private members’ club and Managing Director of Scott’s Restaurant, Mount Street. In 2005 he became Managing Director of The Arts Club and oversaw its transformation into London’s most fashionable and profitable private members’ club. In September 2012 he became Chairman of Coq d’Or Restaurants owners of Langan’s Brasserie, Odin’s and Shepherd’s restaurants and is now the Director of L’Escargot Restaurant in Soho, London’s oldest French restaurant.
