Here’s a round up of our 2019 Thought Leadership Breakfast Series.
We kicked of the 2019 Thought Leadership Breakfast series with guest speaker Anna Jones Co-Founder of AllBright discussing the topic ‘Corner office to Co-Founder’. In Feb we welcomed our first duo act Yasmin Jones Henry and Nina Marenzi who debated sustainable fashion and the movement of brands changing this behaviour to become more ethical and how as consumers we can positively impact the industry. Empowering women has always been a core objective of Adoreum and our next speaker Tempest Rose Founder of Founder & Creative Director of House or Burlesque, has made that her focus for the past 10 years teaching women to feel comfortable in their own skin. Katie Brindle, a Chinese medicine practitioner got our guests jiggling about at Mortimer House during a short practical workshop to learn three easy practises to encourage energy flow around the body boosting our immune system, energy levels. In May, we were joined by Tracey Morgan who shared with us all a very intimate story about her struggle with a stalker and her achievement of supercharging the campaign to form the Protection from Harassment Act 1997. Code8 beauty invited us to join them in the Burlington Arcade store for a make up tutorial on creating the perfect ‘am-to-pm’ look followed by a meditation session from Natalia Bojanic. Natalia spoke about the importance of inner beauty and the necessity of incorporating mindfulness into our lives. Lesley-Anne Alexander CBE captivated our guests in July with her stories of women being left behind living in Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Lesley-Anne also painted the picture of the reality of everyday life for some of the worlds poorest women. In September we were joined by some friendly Medical Detection dogs and Dr Claire Guest who shared the breakthrough work the charity is doing to detect cancer via odour samples. Being a founder is never plain sailing and Papillon Luck Founder and CEO of 15th Degree Jet Fuel shared her personal journey of transitioning from working in a corporate environment to starting her own startup and what lessons she’s learnt whilst producing her travel fatigue supplement. Jennifer Schneider, Founder and CEO of The Loved Object a personal styling consultancy agency concluded the 2019 Breakfast series with a talk about helping people realise their potential and expressing the importance of forming a capsule wardrobe.
